Barely awake, barely asleep.
I didn’t think I’d even sleep at all last night, laying in the dark waiting for something to happen. I refused to look at the time, it would only make it move slower. But somewhere between seven and ten in the morning, I managed to get my body to relax and I drifted in to a dream. It’s all a little faint, but it was a sweet dream. We held hands, we ran through the city, we laughed, we cuddled. It was ordinary, but incredible at the same time. With a sleep that felt like a blink; I was awake and the details faded as my eyes adjusted to my cellphone’s clock. Late again.
